OpenTV is the name of a company and of their digital tv receiver software framework.

Unfortunately OpenTV is not really "Open". Manufacturers have to pay royalties and developers have to buy an expensive SDK. Specifications for OpenTV tables/descriptors or their o-code are not available to the public.
